The Power and Glory of God's Creation.
Prophecy of the Persian Gulf War Fulfilled.
Isa. 63-1-6, "Who is this that cometh from Edom, with dyed garments from Bozrah? This (that is) glorious in his apparel, traveling in the greatness of his strength? I that speak in righteousness, mighty to save. Wherefore (art thou) red in thine apparel, and thy garments like him that treadeth in the winefat (winepress)? I have trodden the winepress alone; and of the people (there was) none with me; for I will tread them in mine anger, and trample them in my fury; and their blood shall be sprinkled upon my garments, and I will stain all my raiment. For the day of vengeance is in mine heart, and the year of my redeemed has come.----And I will tread down the people in mine anger, and make them drunk in my fury, and I will bring down their strength to the earth."
Edom represents all who hate Israel. "Bozrah" was Edom's capital city. The description given in the text is similar to Revelation chapter 19. Where in Rev. 19-13 "And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood; and his name is called the word of God." The red-stained condition of the garments has been caused by his trampling blood in the "winepress" of God's judgment. The entire passage in Isaiah is where Christ comes in Revelation 19 to "judge and make war---clothed with a vesture dipped in blood--treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God." The flowing of the blood is the description seen in Rev. 14-20. So severe that the lifeblood of the nations will be poured out on the earth in great quantity.
The Persian Gulf War is prophecied in scripture. The Persian Gulf War was prophecied to "bring in" the fulfillment of the end times prophecied to come. To bring in the fulfillment of prophecy concerning Israel and that prophecied or her as well as the world at large. The prophecy seen in Dan. 9-27 called there the final "seven" that would involve her in that end time. The Persian Gulf War would become the "catylist" that would bring about the fulfillment of the prophecies concerning Israel, the Middle East and the surrounding Arab nations, the saints, the daily, and all other events spoken of in the end of the age prophecy. This Persian Gulf War fulfillment is seen in the book of Jeremiah.
In Jer. 25-13 we read, "I will bring upon that land (Babylon) all the things I have spoken against it. All that are written in this book, and prophecied by Jeremiah as being against all nations." In Jer. 25-15-26 is seen there as being the cup of God's wrath. In verse 26, we see the last to drink it will be the king of Sheshach.* This is known in scripture to be what is called a "cryptogram" used to indicate a thing kept hidden. Used to keep hidden and concealed a certain thing or character. In this case, the character being "the king and place or kingdom" called here "Sheshach.* Here this last king of Sheshach* that would drink God's cup of wrath would be the "mystery Babylon" that would come; that being the mystery Babylon of Revelation. So whenever we see a cryptogram in Jeremiah's prophecy when he speaks of Babylon, we know it to mean mystery Babylon to come. When the cryptogram is not used, we know it to mean the old Babylon, which today lies in Iraq.
We read in Jer. 25-26, that after all these nations of the known world were made to drink the cup of God's wrath, seen in verses 18-25, we read of the rest of the world that will be made to drink it. "And all the kings of the north, near and far, one after the other--all the kingdoms on the face of the earth." As Jeremiah tells us in verse 17, all the kingdoms on the face of the earth were made to drink of it. Then we read, "And after all of them," all nations and kingdoms to come, on all continents and land masses of the world, then we are told; "the king of Sheshach* will drink it to." That being the mystery Babylon to come seen in Revelation.
Revelation speaks of mystery Babylon having a golden cup in her hand filled with abominable things, and she made the earth drink of them, that she herself got drunk on. Since Revelation is an end time prophecy, and the king of Sheshach*, mystery Babylon drinks it last, then this prophecy, when it speaks of sheshach*, concerns the prophecy of mystery Babylon seen in Revelation. And since it's an end time prophecy, it concerns the whole world that God's judgements would fall upon.
The prophecy begins in chapter 50 of Jeremiah. The prophecy that concerns the Persian Gulf War on old Babylon, Iraq as she is now called. The Lord used the nations and mystery Babylon to do this to fulfill the end time prophecy of the book of Daniel and Revelation, among other scriptures. This in turn would fulfill all that is prophecied about mystery Babylon seen in the book of Jeremiah. Not all the prophecies seen here in Jeremiah concerning "Babylon" have been fulfilled, as some today agree. The prophecied fall of mystery Babylon would begin to occur "where" it all started, in Babylon of Old, at the Euphrates River. The last words of Jeremiah were about Babylon. We read in Jer. 51-64, "Then say, "So will Babylon sink to rise no more because of the disaster I will bring upon her, and her people will fall."
WE see in verse 63, "When you finish reading this scroll (prophecies of Babylon in the book), tie a stone to it and throw it into the Euphrates." To indicate where Babylon (Iraq) and mystery Babylon"s prophecied fall would begin. This corresponds with Rev. 18-21, the angel throwing the boulder into the sea; "thus with such force will she be thrown down--never to be found again." So all that was written about Babylon and mystery Babylon was thrown in and at the Euphrates River corresponding to the 6th trumpet seen in Revelation. The four angels who were bound at the great River Euphrates. So we see that what was bound and released at the Euphrates is what would cause the prophecy's fulfillment to begin, and at the prophecy's fulfillment would come Babylon and mystery Babylon's fall.
In this chapter 50 of Jeremiah, we see the prophecy and the history of the Gulf War corresponding with each other, also the prophecy of Isaiah, Ezekiel and Revelation.
Beginning in Jer. 50-9, we read, "I will stir up and bring against Babylon (Iraq) an alliance of great nations from the "land of the north." They will take up their positions against her, and from the "north" she will be captured." The Persian Gulf War brought a great alliance of nations against Iraq, with the U.S. leading that coallition of nations. In Jer. 50-38 we read, "A drought (judgement) on her waters! They will dry up." The "drying of the waters" is figurative to mean a sword and judgement upon the waters. This is seen in Rev. 16-12 with the pouring out of the 6th vial. A sword judgement did come upon Iraq's waters at the Euphrates. Because of the intense allied bombings and bombings of the bridges around the Euphrates River, Iraq's waters did become polluted and undrinkable, where there was little or no water left to drink. WE read in Jer. 50-46, "her capture was heard worldwide." This does not speak of events thousands of years ago, for the whole world would not have known of it. It speaks of events that could only be known worldwide in our time of history.
WE read in Jer. 51-1, "See, I will stir up the Spirit of a destroyer against Babylon and the people of Leb Kamai* ( Babylonia). Here the Lord would stir up a Spirit of a destroyer, and we see this corresponds to Rev. 9-11, the king of the abyss, and of the demon spirits let loose at that time. The king of the demons is called in Greek Apollyon, to mean "destroyer." The Lord stirs up this Spirit destroyer not only against old Babylon, Iraq, but against Israel and the saints also, to fulfill the end time prophecy.
In Jer. 51-6 we read, "It is time for the Lord's vengeance." The Lord makes it known that this is the time of the fulfillment of prophecy, the Lord's wrath on mankind. And this would be the catylist to begin the fulfillment of that end time prophecy. We read in Jer. 51-7, "Babylon was a gold cup in the Lord's hand, she made the whole earth drunk." The context shows here that this speaks not only of old Babylon but mystery Babylon also as can be seen in Rev. 16-19 and 18-3. Where we can see these scripture verses speaking for themselves.
In Jer. 51-24-25 we read, "I will repay Babylon and all who live in Babylonia for all the wrong they have done in Zion, Declares the Lord." Here he speaks of repaying Babylon, Iraq, for what they've done, where the next verse then speaks of Mystery Babylon. "I am against you, O destroying mountain, you who destroy the whole earth." Here mystery Babylon is seen as a destroying mountain (kingdom) who destroys the whole earth. This mountain kingdom nation called America who in time would corrupt the earth with her cup of abominations.
